This week I created my first-ever animations! I knew in theory how you would animate something, layer multiple still pictures while changing them slightly to make it feel like there is motion. In practice, I was so thankful to have the technology I did because it ended up being much more efficient than I thought.

In procreate you can have shadows the previous slides showing which allows you to draw in the next step easily and accurately. In my time-lapse videos you will see both red and green shadows, red are shadows from previous slides, and green are objects that appear on the next slide.

It was especially great following the Art with Flo tutorial to try animation for the first time because I was very much overthinking the process, and the teaching artist makes it very relaxed and fun!

The takeaway from this is that everyone can animate!

First Attempt

The first video is the final product from my first animation attempt, and the second is the timelapse video of creating the GIF, remember to check out the link below and try the original tutorial out for yourselves.
